Herbs/Greens (2025:)

Lettuce mix: A mix of various leaf lettuce. Lettuce prefers the cool and will bolt (goto seed) in warmer temperatures so plant in early spring and again in the later summer or fall to increase production. Lettuce grows quickly so you can continue seeding every few weeks. see also: IT’S ALL ABOUT LETTUCE
Chives: Easy-to-grow and happy to spread grass-like perennial herb related to onion and garlic. Purple flowers at the end of green onion stalks. Attracts bees and other pollinators while also repelling some insects.
Mustard greens: A mix of red, giant red, and mizuna, spicy mustard greens. Fast growing and some are slow to bolt in the summer heat. Cold hardy so easy to plant a second crop in the late summer for late fall harvest.
Fennel: A biennial bulb grown as an annual. Cool weather crop with bright green foliage that can grow quite tall. Harvest the foliage or bulbs when they reach about 3 inches in diameter. Plants are attractive to beneficial insects.
Cilantro: Quickly growing annual herb. Can grow to 3 ft tall. Plant in the cool early spring.
Amaranth: Grown as a flower, a salad green with tasty leaves and, for its seeds which can be harvested as a nutritious grain. Tall broad leaves with a single red flower on each stem.
Dill: An annual cold hardy herb that should be sown in early spring. Quick to grow and can mature to quite tall.
Walking Onion: A top set onion that spreads underground as well as by producing miniature edible “bulblets” at the end of long, green stalks. When bulblets grow heavy, they bend to the soil and take root as new individual plants. **can take a while longer to grow from seed than from bulblets.
